Is there a way to disable the Spiders portion of the Who's Online?

I looked in the CP and didn't see one right off.

You could just comment it out of the cache_builder file; I don't think there is a switch in the cp to get rid of it.

What would happen if you emptied the list of spiders in the General Display Options?

and more specifically, go to /templates/default/island_whos_online.tpl

and remove it

Thanks... Removed the code above and tweaked some language entries.

Our board is behind a password protected support area, so the Spiders was always 0, not to mention it generated un-needed questions.

Just because I just did the same thing, some FYI. After cutting out the spiders lines from the /templates/default/island_whos_online.tpl as Sirdude mentions, the language entries to edit are in the file portal_islands.php in /languages/english and change ONLINE_ANON and ONLINE_ANONS to remove the "and" where it says "Guests and". Otherwise your visitors will be left with "10 Guests and" if you only chop the spider ref out of the template.

Warning that this will have the same effect anywhere that var is used, but I don't see it anywhere else.
