I have complains from my moderators about merging threads and moving postings. Its seems that V7.3 put merged postings with dateslip in the thread and older version 7.x put them at the end. Can this be?

The problem behind: most of the user use flat view so he can't see who answer on which posting. They take the last 3 postings and move them to an other thread. At the destination these 3 postings get datesliped and be somewhere in the thread in flat view. The context of the 3 postings can be disturbed in flat wiev with other postings who fit the time beween these 3 postings.

It is a litle bit hard to describe the problem but I hope you can follow me.

If I merge 2 threads make it a difference witch posting in the destination thread I select as merge destination? Must it be the first posting of a thread or can it be anyone in the thread? Is there a difference in the result?

The biggest problem seems the funktion: move THIS psot and ALL answer to it. If he dont use thread view he move the wrong answer because he belief to move THIS post and all under it in flat view.

I know other methods to move postings from other board systems. Here you select each posting with a checkmark which you like to move and so it is clear.
