One of my forum members cannot send or receive private messages. I checked his permissions and his preferences, and according to them, he should be able to. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

Nope, he actually doesn't have any PMs in there at all.

I just tried to send him a PM to see what would happen, and what's happening is that when I click on his name or try to add him to the PM, the "add recipient" field is showing his name until I hit submit. As soon as I hit submit, that field is empty, his name shows underneath it, but when it goes to the next page, it says that the only participant in the PM is me.

I would check to see if he or she is allowing PM from other users. Admins should be able to PM anyone even if their PM is off for that user or the site in general though.

I didn't realize I could do that! smile

Just did it - he's right, he has no messages. I was able to send a message from him to me, and then I could respond back and it showed up in his account. But when I sent a message to him, it didn't go through, and on my acct, it said I was the only participant.

Edited to add that I checked his preferences in his account, and he is set up to accept PMs from other users. I tried setting that again and updating it in case it was just a glitch, but it still didn't work if I PM'ed him first.

Am having the same issue with some of my users. Have you been able to get this resolved Kristen?

Unfortunately, no. I saw your post and someone's reply about updating, but I don't think that's an option for us either. We're using the same version you are.
