We have a few users that link Images from other places which is quite normal...

However they like to post the Huge Image instead of more of a Mid Size with a link...

www.sclr.org/roverboard/roverboard.shtml
Currently 7.2.2 Version. Had some Issues with Frames and 7.3.x
(Sorry about the frames just want to show the full effect of the site)

With Firefox 2.0.0.14 The Posts show beautifully... the image in the post is scrollable but the forums stays the same width and height no problem and perfect...

With IE the results are quite different as well as with Firefox 3 the results are also more like IE7...

take a look and see what you think testing with Firefox2 Firefox3 and IE...

also I'm attaching the image that it was fist noticed on..

just add

.post_inner img {
max-height: xxx;
max-width: yyy;
overflow: auto;
}

in your Extra CSS for each style.. or even better yet, put it in common.css so you only have to do it one time smile

Didn't seem to make a difference with existing posts... I'll try another post and see if it does something different

----------

Nope doesn't make a change... maybe I should clear the cache and see if that makes a difference I guess...

well, i went to your board and use Firebug to change the css and that works..

you only had overflow: auto;

here's what i did to your Extra CSS (for my browser):

which produced:

i used 90%, but 500px would have been fine, or XXem is a nice choice for fluid styles..

your call on what you like to use smile

what i also do on my boards, is to add a [thumb] tag that makes the larger images clickable, so you can see the full size version...

that's a mod, but i find it's well worth it to :

1) not blow up the boards flow with huge images
2) still allow them to be clicked and the full image shown

:3c:

Using 90% works like a charm...

I like the idea of the thumb tag with a lightbox effect...

using the code from lightbox2 would be nice to add that effect..
Code:
[thumb]http://duh.com/img.jpg[/thumb]

Can you tell me where I would look for this mod? I like it already!

well, you'd have to look on my PC!! laugh

i haven't posted it anywhere.. but, simply put you would do the following:

1) get lightbox stuff added to your site (add the js, css and also change showflat.inc.php, .tpl)
2) go to content tools and add a thumb tag that takes the url to the image and marks it up with rel="lightbox" in the <a> tag
3) adapt lightbox to have a larger initial thumb size (optional)

*poof* done smile

okay.. I might be completely stupid here...

showflat.inc I know where that one is...

really not sure about how / where to place my lightbox files but I can experiment with that one.

the content tools I am a bit slow on figuring this one out.. is that in the css file? or in the site...

Because the thumb tag is an excellent idea!
