there's never really a good time to code an importer, since both products are (usually) in a state of flux..

i had thought i'd take the latest FBB and 7.3 to do it..

not sure what kinda demand there is or how much it's worth doing..

at a minimum, i think i'll wait for 7.3.1 or .2 to exist..

The vBulletin importer is currently top priority. I think Rick stated that it should be done after 7.3.1, however, I haven't heard from him.

I wonder what is planned after the vB importer. If I would choose, it would either be for phpBB3 or Invision Power Board.

they are kinda in parallel, of sorts.

i volunteered to do the fbb one, had it coded 60% for 7.2x, put it on hold til 7.3x

so, unless it becomes a priority for Rick to do, it's not in his equation of 'importers to write' at the moment wink

If you are in real need, any import from any product is possible. If there's no importer available, it basicly says there is no 99% fullproof generic solution available.

If you want to to have a conversion, I know of people for hire. It would just be more costly since it would involve a lot of manual labor, depending on what data you want to import.

My priority would be: vB, FBB, IPB, PHPBB3

Why this order you ask? Look where our customers went while we where dead...
