Should be able to add them to a folder on the server and then add them in the Control Panel

Would need Admin rights in the Control Panel to do it though, and rights to upload the files to the server.

You don't add them to the site that way.. you upload via CP, otherwise you get 'file exists' errors when adding new ones. a 'feature' frown

http://yoursite.com/forums/admin/graemlins_display.php?returntab=1

change 'yoursite.com' to your site laugh
change '/forums' to whatever sub-dir your forums are in (ubbthreads?)

there is where you ADD new smileys smile

You'll want to get your admin to upgrade too. 7.0 RC1 indicates Release Candidate 1. Beta. If the site is an "official" board for something it should be upgraded from a beta version of the product to a real production release.

lol @ David's Avatar.. that's a good one laugh

and just another note, which i find a bit annoying. when you add a new graemlin and you have more than just the default directory under graemlins...

you will have to manually copy over the newly uploaded .gif, .png, .jpg

to the other directory(s).. ie: default_dark and whatever else.

otherwise, what you'll find out is that for styles which use the default directoy, all smileys will be honky dorry.. but if you use a theme that uses default_dark, the smileys will come up as broken images wink

[caveat]this is of course, unless i missed something[/caveat]
