I can't view any shouts or make any either

Running UBB 7.3.1
I can only see the content of shotbox with firefox. Why does it become invisible with IE?

ditto. (it's ok on Konq also.)

Forgot to mention this...

Using IE7, the shoutbox is blank but I posted anyway.
Can't see the resultant post in IE.

Viewing using Windows - Opera 7.3.1 -- I see my postings.
Also - I can see in Linux Opera/ Konq/ FF

Just looks like a IE issue then?

It's a new issue, wasn't like that the day before and isn't like that on other 7.3.1 sites I visit.

Not that new for me.
I've had a blank shoutbox for quite a while, just didn't mention it.

Not exactly sure what that is just yet.

Shoutbox has gone again (in IE7). Immediately after Sd farted.
It's ok in FF.

We had a problem with IE users not seeing the shoutbox depending on its content. Found out that it was a problem when using umlauts for the smileys codes. The smiley code will show up in the smileys alt-tag and block IEs XML parsing engine.

The general problem may be non UTF-8 characters in the shoutbox content. For example here the shout #975 contains an illegal character: GEN™

Then it's easily tested
Can someone delete the shout to see if we get the shoutbox working in IE ?

Works pretty now

i added an ™ back in as a shout for test.. should 'die' now ?
