Is there a way to modify UBB Classic 6.3.1.1 to hide or mask user passwords in any way? Even a hack would be fine, as this is a copy of an old instance.
Someone I support is interested in obtaining direct access to the administrative control panel of an archived UBB Classic 6.3.11 board that I maintain for research, but I am reluctant to grant the request because member passwords are visible in clear text to any admin browsing their pages.

Well, you should be able to just edit the template file and set it to a password type; unfortunately I don't have such an old version of classic to refer to however...

hehe, the best way to mask user passwords in the cp is to upgrade to 6.7.3 - showing passwords was removed around 6.5-6.6 much to a lot of people's chagrin.

Hmm, I suppose an upgrade is worth considering, thanks.
As an aside: Chagrin? Personally, I was horrified the day I first saw a password sitting out in plain sight.

True, I would definitely recommend an upgrade for security sake...
