Hey guys,

I set the global flood setting to say 60 secs (between posts) and then I tried to do it per account neither way seems to curb those that would like to spam a thread. Am I missing something? Or is this a bug someone else is encountering?

Thanks in advance
Dunny

I believe that Admin's and Mods are exempt from the floodcheck

*nods* you are right but it doesn't work for regular users. Tried it with 3 different accounts (random users that I could get in the shout box) and they all went by the global one..(set per forum)// so I set their timer each individually and same thing they could post via normal reply and quick reply as if there was no timer there.

Can anyone help with this? Maybe I set something up wrong, or should I see if someone at UBBDev has a workaround (or both) Any help is appreciated.

Are you using the become this user function to test as those users, or actually logging in as them? The become user has a bit of an issue with not grabbing all of the correct perms.

No I used an actual user account. As in I asked someone in shout to just take a post and start spamming it. I kept trying changing the settings and time and had them log out then back in and still they could spam it. Log out and back in/ as well as completely close the Internet browser.

Is this one of those I should submit a ticket for?
I really need to see if I can get this to work smile

Probably the best bet. Since the permission system is still fairly new, it's easiest to work directly on the site to figure out what's going on.

I will see if I can work on the access to the forum, but I did neglect to mention that this came up since we shifted to 7.3.1

We had a similar problem in 7.2.x but the work around was just a per user flood control that worked famously. This time though neither control is working. But as soon as I get direct access to the folder Rick I will get you a ticket so you can work that stogie magic.

Ok I did find something of interest since I can't open the boards so that I can get to them directly..... :/ anyway I was looking at templates and as such the Player Management TPL does reference the floodgate script BUT I didn't SEE a floodgate script or tpl or even a css file. Am I missing something?
