I just finished changing some forum permission and I was checking the results and now I'm totally confused. (Not hard to do!)
Here's what I did:
1. Changed forum A to allow guest to view its contents.
Worked fine results visible when viewing Forum Permission in CP.
2. I used forum A and Copied its permission to about 10 other forums. I did this twice because after the first time when I went back to look at the permissions they weren't the same as Forum A.
3. I then logged off and went on as a "Guest", not logged on.
The Forums were ALL visible to me as "Guest".
4. I logged on, went back to the CP and looked at the Forum Permission. Not all of them were marked so a "Guest" could view them!!
5. Logged off, Went back on as "Guest" and I could see the forums!!!
It's as if the forums copy from Forum A when the forum list is loaded, but in the CP there no indication the Forum XX has those permissions.

Is this the way it's supposed to work???
I've checked the suhosin in PHP Info and it's not there anywhere.

I should add, I'm on 7.3.0

hehe, don't know what to say -- i'm guessing it might be cookies, but from what i recall, the perms are a per user dealio in one table and it's loaded every time.

maybe the guest (since it's not just ONE user) is special in that regard...

Rick designed it, so i guess i'll defer to him.. wink

Hmm, I'll probably need a support ticket for this just so I can check and do some database queries to see exactly what's going on.
