I don't believe there is any kind of admin guide to managing subscriptions with 7.3. If there is, can someone point me in that direction.

I've been accepting subscriptions on my 7.2 Threads board for over a year. Once people make a payment, I manually put them in the appropriate subscriber group.

This is really time consuming (especially managing renewals), and I'm really looking forward to automating things more with 7.3. I'm just about to make the upgrade to 7.3. I started poking around in the 7.3 control panel and don't really see the tie-in on the registration page for a new user to simultaneously register for his Threads account and purchase a subscription.

What are the steps to setting this up?

Does anyone have a link to their reg page that they can share?

it's a 2 stepper --

they would sign up for threads and be put in the 'User' group (as example)

then, they would need to go to 'My Stuff' Subscriptions and signup for the 'Paid group'...

that takes them to Paypal, they fork over the dough and then ubbthreads adds them to the new group..

and ditto the documentation: i have yet to see any documentation on 7.3.1 at all.. i COULD be blind however laugh

Thanks.

I smell a mod. smile

I don't want my users to have to go through more steps than necessary.

Most paid sites allow a person to do it all in one registration process. The simpler, the better.

matter of fact, i like your idea -- having 2 steps might actually discourage new signups..

I believe Rick said that when 7.3 was released he would have doc's on the subscription stuff but I think he forgot it.

Didn't quite forget it. It's just the demand for 7.3 was a bit higher than I had planned for and finally digging out of all of the installs and upgrades. wink
