Hey-- I'm new to this stuff, and I need to insert a custom island to my forums with Google AdSense. I've created a Custom Island (I used Island 3), changed the title to "Site Sponsor", and inserted this text into the box:

The ads aren't appearing, and the island title still says "Portal Box 3"

What am I doing wrong? Should there be some php code in there? Truthfully, I"m not even sure what it would be. I'm a total noob.

Also, why do I get "Error reading RSS data." when i tell it to update the Custom Island?

Hmm, the main thing is to make sure there are no spaces after the <<<EOF and EOF; lines. I'd check on that first.

As for the Error you are getting. This sounds like maybe one of your other custom islands. Do you have another one that has anything to do with RSS stuff?

nope, no spaces. I get that error anytime I try to update the Island after inserting the above code. Do I need to have some sort of PHP code?

Well, it could all be related to this error: Error reading RSS data. That's not part of the default code, so I'm assuming that's coming from one of your other portal boxes. I'd try and get that one resolved first.

For the adsense one you don't need any php code, just what you posted.

I found out what RSS feed was causing the issues and I killed it. Thanks for your help everybody!
