Am working in the demo admin to see if we're going with threads. Yeah, love the classic.....Not so busy as all this...

Where do I change color? In UBB Classic there are drop downs for each forum with color swatches for just about everything. I looked into the styles area of the admin and don't understand anything about that page. No examples or defaults for the different properties. I have to assume color numbers but the refresh of the example doesn't reflect anything I do.

I did successfully insert my css drop down menu and header smile but I don't like the two rows of breadcrums at the top where a simple text link to profile, search, faq used to be.

Is there some improvement coming for color management, and why on earth would such an essential feature be taken out of Threads or made more complicated? Or am I really missing something?

Please enlighten me.

When your working with the styles in threads and using Fire Fox you can select the button at the top to preview your changes as it will look when saved. You were not able to do that in Classic.

IE will not let you preview the changes without saving them first as its matrix and programing is lacking.

I hope this helps some.

In threads when you click on the different sections it opens up and boxes appear, you make your changes, additives, or deletions in those boxes.

The versatility of threads over classic massive. I love classics features and setup but threads has so much more.

the box supports full CSS; you'll have to be comfortable with tweaking CSS to get the full effect out of it...

If you're not comfortable with creating a style, there are several of us here who do styling work (such as myself)

Make a copy of an existing theme and have a fiddle smile

phoebe,

I'll PM you with a look at my classic board (still up) and the threads site I just completed and you can see that the colors are very versatile. However, I wanted to post a link that you will find very helpful for color selection HTML Color Codes.

I do think it's difficult for a novice to try and change colors by #number specifications rather than the visual aid of actually seeing the color as was the case in classic. But what I did was open my classic board and look at the style colors there along with the numbers, which is very helpful for recreating the look you want with copy and paste.
