two things holding me back on a purchase now:

1. cost: $149 if you already have UBB installed but an additional $99 is mandatory for the member area.

Why is the basic new install $199 but previous users have to pay $250? Tell me if that is an error. $149 is fair.

2. search engine's finding my pages has always been a plus with Classic.

I guess I'm back to working on a PHPBB install...

$99 is the upgrade license. it is not added to the sale price.

PHPBB has a few flaws and many sites running it have been compromised in several ways.

If you do not have a UBB license it is $199

If you have a UBB even if it is the classic and you wish to upgrade it is only $99

If you wish for the UBB people to install it for you then it is more. most people just do it themselves as it is very easy.

I went through the purchase sequence with my license for ubbclassic upgrade etc. and it said I had avaialble to me a $149 charge and sent me back for a $99 additional fee.

So all I need is the member area access for $99 and I can get my upgrade from UBBClassic? My membership expired in 05.

Is that $149 for someone else to install the upgrade?

I upgraded a license from 2000 for $99 and upgraded to threads on that license.

I have 3 UBB's - 1 Classic and 2 Threads.

$99 to get into the member area if your access has expired. And that's it. If you wish to have someone else do the install it's more, but if you are doing the install it is $99.

$149 is the upgrade install, which is someone else doing it for you.
