just started showing the recent posts island on the board, of course folks are whining their posts don't show immediately. i have it set to update every 5 minutes.

any idea how MUCH of an increase in server load it is to make it update more often?

It's actually a pretty quick query, so there isn't much load. However if it's set to run too often and you have a pretty active forum, it's going to be changing pretty rapidly
