Front Page has always been a dicey program to use (IMHO)

You might want to look at using a product like Dreamweaver if you really need a dedicated Web page creation program.

FileZilla if you only need an FTP program is a nice free FTP solution.

Notepad++ or similar though if you can do some manual editing with your Web pages.

Though I'm sure if you visit some sites that are a bit more dedicated to Front Page they can probably help you sort out the current issues you're having with it.
