Despite the path being correct in the Cp and the test for it writable passes there are none showing up.

Tried to add one and get this:

Avatars are the small pictures that users may designate to display under their names, next to each of their posts. Please make sure that your your: '%%AVVY_DIR%%' directory is writeable by the web server.

So there is a bug in 7.4.1 that the path it reads is corrupted. Tried resaving my path its still the same

I'm having the same problem. I just tried to add an avatar and now only have a box with the red cross in it.

aus-city's problem was the images/avatars directory wasn't fully writable, in fact it wasn't even readable.

First thing I'd do is check the permissions on all of the directories and files using the permission checker.

It looks to me like if you don't have an avatar you can upload one, but if you have one it wont let you change it? I tried clicking the "I no longer want to have an avatar" box and it disappeared but then when I tried to upload the new avatar it just put the old one back .. but it changed the dimensions to what the new one was!
