Just wondering. I know that some features have warnings about server load. For example, displaying the number of unread replies when viewing a forum says the feature can cause extra load on the server. I was just wondering how much additional load allowing RSS feeds would cause? It seems that if you have a lot of members using a lot of feeds, it could cause significant load on the SQL server? Just wondering what the thoughts of some of you long-timers might be on this topic?

since upgrading from 7.2.2 to 7.4.1

Apache is going nuts when i have a thread with lots of images and hammering the cpu.

i'm also starting to get sql errors on tables every few days,
which i never ever had in 7.2.2. and previous.

But food for thought the RSS ?

Well, the RSS feeds are cached, just like any other page on your forums; so they shouldn't cause much additional overhead...

and since they are text only data, it's not like you're serving files/images/html to the reader; so it could actually have less overhead in mark's case...
