I have seen a consistent number of spiders here for quite some time.
In addition when I search for items on the internet I see that very current topics are listed.

Maybe Rick will share some tips he uses for this site?

  • Ubb Settings
  • Search Engine Submission
  • Site Maps
  • Meta Tags
  • Spider lists
  • Other useful tips

No secret really. Not using a sitemap at all. In fact, we've done nothing special here to boost our search engine numbers. We're running a standard setup, no robots.txt, nothing. They just like us smile

I seem to have a consistent number of spiders on my site also.
Occasionally they go a bit berserk, but that’s about once/twice a year only.

i can say for certain Rick isn't using my sitemap here; but he has a lot of exposure (look at the link in your copyright on your forum, it goes where? lol).

A sitemap will help with exposure with SE's that support them, as you're telling them directly where content is located

Duh I never even gave that a thought.

Just for giggles Rick.

So does NEWS in Control Panel. So Google thinks a LOT of sites like this place so he/she wants to go check it out too and see what the fuss is all about. grin

I honestly don't know if anyone has ever counted over the years. I know that when I was involved the thought was never how many have we sold, but how many more people can we get involved and sell to. Knowing Rick I'll bet ... this unopened can of pop on my desk smile that he still thinks the same way to this day. You never want to rest on your laurels and you always want to be moving forward.

I don't believe spiders have access to that page.
