The list just displays all the forums. You need to select which forum or forums you want to display in the portal.
Or not to display in the next option

When you select one forum with a mouse click you will see it gets highlighted.
Just click on the forum you want with your mouse. Or hold down the Ctrl key while selecting multiple forums with your mouse.

Of course you will need to click on the submit button at the bottom when done.
