On the bottom of the screen there is a 'server test' for which one can see if your server is compatable with threads.

http://www.ubbcentral.com/demo.php

I'd want to do this test on our server before looking any further at any upgrades.

How is it done? Would i need my version's Adminstrator Guide (6.2.0)? (i believe our site owner might have one) I suspect it'd be much better for me to read the Guide -- read the instructions -- as opposed to just asking you guys without having first done any legwork.

This issue of our forum not being 'compatable with an upgrade (threads)' was my concern when i started this thread.

It might be that the owner of my forum already had his tech guy go through this. And that's how the owner got the idea that our forum is not upgradeable. (if our server is not compatable with threads we'll simply look at a later version of classic.)

Once again, thanks for your patience.

I have not tried the demo in a while. But all you do is download the file. Upload it to your site and run the file from you web browser.
Just read the readme in the zip file"

This will test to see if you are running the proper version of PHP and that PHP is complied with MySQL functionality. The only thing we don't check for here is your MySQL version which needs to be 4.0 at the minimum. UBB.threads will work with version 4 or 5 of MySQL which is commonly installed on most servers. If you are unsure of your MySQL version please contact your host.

The test file is just a php file to run from your browser.
So the only thing you need to verify is the MYSQL stuff from your host.
