I've clicked just about every single place I can possibly think to in the Control Panel, probed into every single section to find a section to edit what's set as the default for user preferences... and I cannot find it to save my life.

What I'm looking for is a place to change the default preference for all new users to "Show User's Avatar" from "no" to "yes" so that when someone registers they don't have to change that toggle every time.

We're a site that provides multiple usernames/accounts to individuals should they wish it, so it would get rather tedious after a time to have to change that preference every single time a new account was made.

Is there any way to edit this in the control panel so that the toggle is already automatically set to "yes" instead of "no"?

Well, quite easy, there isn't a default settings option...

I'd love the see the option in v8 Rick if you're taking suggestions...

I'd also love to see a way to change usernames (as an admin) without having to database dive lol...

With the newer versions it should have this already set to yes as the default for that field, however if you want to make sure you can run the following SQL command from within the control panel:

When a user first registers, and they click on a topic in one of the forums, avatars don't show up. They do show up on the User Profiles when a username is clicked, they do show up in Private Message strings ... just not in the forum threads.

It's so weird. >.<
