Yes, we'll do a vb4 importer as well, but probably not until version 8 is finished, unless the demand to convert now is high enough.

thanks for that. given the current state of vbulletin at the moment i don't think it will be long to see a demand slowly coming through.

I know what you mean razgo. I use to be a big vb fan but seeing that price hike it made me look to other alternatives and UBB.threads is looking nicely everyday.

There are little database changes between vB 3.8 and vB 4.0. I wouldn't be surprised if the current vBulletin importer will work.

I'm in the same boat, myself. I've got a couple of vB licenses, and I recently purchased IPB licenses to convert from vB to IPB, but it's extremely convoluted / difficult to properly utilize and I'm sincerely contemplating renewing my old UBB.Classic license to make the switch to .threads seeing as the upgrade price is extremely reasonable and the potential upside is likely worth the risk given how version 8 is shaping up.

I can only imagine that there are others in the same position, so it's reasonable to assume that many will be making the jump from vBulletin, and even IPB, to UBB and similar products.

We will certainly welcome anyone that is considering converting back to UBB. Obviously there was a reason that many people converted from UBB to vBulletin in the past and definitely understand that it takes a bit of a leap of faith to come back. But we are working to make sure anyone that does will not be disappointed.
