On one of my boards we require people to use their full name including capitalisation as their Login Name, and we don't allow Display Names. We believe in this case - rightly or wrongly - that fixing names like this engenders a better sense of community.

It'd be really useful if a) Display Names could be globally turned off - including removing that option from the registration page - and b) if some form of optional validation on usernames could be added.
