I've added some custom html to a portal box. When I enable that portal box, the title and the html isn't displayed. Instead it's an old portal box content that is displayed i.e. a previous title and previous html. It's as if the changes are not been recorded when I press save although in the CP the title and html is correct.

Any ideas?

Thankyou in advance.

Clear your cache.

CP > Tools & Info > Clear Cache

I've also had this problem in the past were the browser's cache also need clearing. It displays fine in one browser but still shows the old portal box in the other.

Okay assuming that the island is coded correctly.
On some servers you need to manually goto the cache folder via ftp and delete all the files except for the html ones.
Such as index.htm and index.html
Then clear the cache via the control panel.

That will force the cache builder to completely rebuild all the cache files.

Will try that now. Also created a new forum but the permission changes on the forum aren't working. Mods can't see the new forum I added for example. I've used Threads for years so I can't see any setting I've missed.

do you have a ton of forums? there is a limit / bug, if your number of forums is very large and the permissions 'fail'

it has to do with the permissions table and specifically a field that is too small, when there are tons of forums / groups..

but it has to be like over 250 or more..
