404 / RSS errors

Every day, I get a load of 404s in my error logs.

http://www.example.com/forums/cache/global_rss4.xml

When clicking on the link I see the RSS feed but with missing images.

Right clicking on the missing image gives this...

http://www.example.com/forums/cache/%3C%3CGRAEMLIN_URL%3E/smile.gif

Any ideas how I can correct this?

$posts['POST_DEFAULT_BODY'] = str_replace("%% GRAEMLIN_URL %%",'graemlins/default',$posts['POST_DEFAULT_BODY']);

Note: this board is replacing

%% GRAEMLIN_URL %%

, so i put spacing there. remove the spaces when you add the code..

I tried this...
(The second line only - tildes(~) omitted)

...however, it doesn't seem to make any difference at all.

I also tried "images/graemlins/default" and GRAEMLIN_URL without the %%

Any thoughts as to what could be happening?
