Did anyone else get this today from the old Infopop people? Rick, did they legally take their email list with them when you bought out UBB?

Get what? We've had two complaints about spam but nobody actually told us what was sent, when, or from whom.

Ok, I've found out what is going on here. It has nothing to do with illegally begotten mailing lists, or anything insidious like that. It's pretty simple, and actually pretty embarrassing, as you might guess.

There was a bug, actually two bugs, at work here. The upgrade of our old forum community site kept any notifications that you might have had in place, but it added a notification for any content types that didn't previously exist. Blogs, in this case.

That was bug number 1.

Bug number 2 is that these legacy user accounts weren't receiving notifications at all. That was fixed this week. Today was Rosemary's first blog post since the notifications bug was fixed, and if you were ever registered on our forums you got one.

We will be stripping notifications off of the older accounts. We would love it if you did want to read the blog and participate in our community but our intentions were not to add any notifications that were not already there.
