Okay, instead of replying to this old thread I'll start a new one.

How to display something like:

Max Online:
Members 30 @ 1/1/11 12:01 AM
Guests 30 @ 10/10/10 7:00 PM
Spiders 30 @ 3/3/11 12:00 PM

Am I incorrect in thinking that provides the stats for "Who's Online" rather than "Max Online" ?

It's the island "Who's Online", if you're wanting to modify the Who's Online page (here) it's a lot more involved (and I can't really see why you'd want to trim that page down to show like no data; instead I'd suggest making that page available to admins only).

What I'm actually looking at modifying, I think, is the Forum Stats. I am happy with Who's online output.

The Max Online in the Forum Stats however is horribly skewed from spiders. It would be nice to be able to dice up the Max Online as desired to show Registered/Unregistered/Spiders-Bots.

Edit: Consider me as moderately able to handle anything you want to throw at me.

I understand what you're saying, Prof, because I've been thinking the same thing. My "Max Online" in the "forum stats" hit 304 the other day (10 minute window), and I know much of that was from spiders. It would be interesting to have the "max online" breakdown. On the other hand, there is probably a percentage of your "guest" traffic that consists of bots that you haven't added to your list yet.

I guess what I am wondering is if there is a
$maxregistered
$maxinvisible
$maxspiders
or something like that, possibly as part of a
$maxonline = $maxregistered + $maxinvisible + $maxspiders
formula somewhere.
Is there an entry in the database or a variable somewhere that has those max counts?
Or a way to keep a running high count from the $registered, $invisible, $spiders numbers?
