Am trying to move the rest of my blogs etc, over to mindraven..

I dread this..

I am exporting a mysql from 1and1.com and it exported ok, but could not import it here as it is password protected. I do not see any place to put in password in the myphpadmin, either for exporting or importing..

Thoughts?

Thanks

I for one have never heard of a password function in phpmyadmin.
If the old site has cpanel there should be a backup/restore utility you might try.
You have a few options for backup.
* Home Directory
* MySQL Databases
* Email forwarders configuration
* Email filters configuration

Is there a better way?

It looks to me like you were able to import the database,correct?
Does it appear in phpmyadmin?

If so.
Just like ubb.
You now will need to assign a user account to the database with a password from cpanel
Then whatever software you are using you will need to tell it what that new user and password is. Looks like at the old site you used clubadve as the user
In ubb it is simply editing config.inc.php.

likely what's happening is that mindraven may require your db's to be prefixed with your host name...

Example; user "george.com"'s databases would be something akin to "george_com_-_dbname"

The dump is trying to create a db, which may not follow the proper naming convention...

I'd create the db manually, then do a find/replace in the dump with the dbname you want to use as the replace.

normally on a mysql dump, you have the option of adding a creation of the DB..

you don't want that.. so untick that option on your export..

you just want the tables to be created and import into an existing DB that you created on Mindraven

the table creation and subsequent record import will be DB agnostic and will import fine then..

then just ( for wordpress ) modify your wp-config.php to be the DB, user, pass that you used when creating the DB on Mindraven..

Any chance that your process imports a new mysql database as well as everything else?
