We are excited to announce that we are moving forward with UBB.threads and are planning to release version 7.6 in the next 6-8 weeks. Sirdude has been brought on board as the primary developer and along with myself, Gizmo and Ruben (special thanks to them) we have been gathering together a new feature set as well as bug fixes for the 7.6 release.

Work has already started on the development side and we should have the complete list of features and bug fixes posted up next week. We have a beta testing server setup, if you are interested in testing please send a private message to Sirdude.

We are also evaluating mobile options for UBB such as tapatalk.com which would bring your forums into the iOS and Andriod platforms with a native mobile look/feel as well as a full set of functionality . This would most likely be an add-on option for UBB.threads 7.6+ and brought online between 7.6 and the next major release.

Also in the works is a re-designed ubbcentral.com to bring a fresh look to the site and the software it's promoting.

We appreciate everyone's feedback good and bad and would like to stress that we need the support of the UBB.threads community/forum owners to continue the development of UBB.threads. This includes feedback, beta testing, keeping your support active, etc. We are considering other supporting revenue streams to support development as well, such as featuring your forum on our features page: http://www.ubbcentral.com/features.php . I just wanted to add that I intend to start a 7.6 features / changelog thread that you can monitor over the following weeks.

i have made quite a few changes already and they consist of many of the recommendations you have brought up in various threads.

The main concentration will be in two areas:

1. The user experience. ie: how the forum operates and _not_ so much the admin back end.
2. Bug fixes. Things that have been around and not working for quite some time now.

I will post a list of what is intended with status as fixed, complete, or not done, so you can watch our progress.

There may be a chance that the initial list may grow, due to a bug that I might have missed or a feature that seems reasonable to add.

All in all, the key is to produce a meaningful increment to the current stable 7.5.6 that addresses many of the top desires of forum owners.

It aims to be optimally aggressive as to feature set. By that I mean we don't want to have so many new things, that a release date drags past our target, but at the same time it also has to provide some 'meat on the bone' as well.

The list is fairly clear now, and might be lacking on all identified bugs.

I intend to have it started as well as a thread to discuss the list and changes for you as well.
