I also tried this option on my company's bb. It has a similar option, with differences in details. I suspect it uses an older version of the PHP software.

Determining the version is easy.
Scroll down to the bottom and in the footer should be a link to ubb showing also the version of the software.

Kinda old. In fact very old in today's terms.
There are lots of bug fixes and enhancements since then.
But as far as polls go I don't recall much, without reviewing the change log's.

Did not want to get into that issue since this user appears to be a user without control over what version is used.

All I stated is there is not much in the term of enhancements in polls from the version used.
