On my server within the domain of our Forums, I have a folder called

cgi-bin

In that folder there are other folders

Members
Modules

and other cgi-files.

I think that these might be from the time we were on ubb.classic.

Am I correct in thinking that?
And am I correct in thinking that they are not used at all by ubbthreads7.x and that I can safely delete them for good?

Thank you for any help!

I also have a folder called

ubb

and that seems to be full of lots of cgi files as well.
Can I get rid of that too?

Thanks

Yes, UBB.Classic was generally run from a cgi-bin folder on most webhosts; mainly the configuration files, script files, and member data were in that folder, generally a "ubb/" directory would also be in your web root.

And yes, if you're running UBB.threads you won't be running anything out of your cgi-bin (unless it's one of the redirectors which came with the importer files then you moved to threads).

Thanks Gizmo

What would a redirector look like? Will try to find that.

Well, the redirector files replace the executable files in classic, so they would be:

cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi
ubb/ultimatebb.php

OK thank you Gizmo.

Is that ubb folder redundant as well (apart from the redirector file)?

Ultimately, yeah... When I imported my forums I redirected the ubb directory to the threads directory and threw the re-directors in there; if you've been on threads for a while I doubt you're really using them at this point.
