Version 7.5.6 p2 online for years, zero changes by me and only one with admin access to domain on host server or to forum

going to forum

Browsers end up saying page download is done yet there is zero content in browser and viewing source for that page also is blank

Host server stinks, Hostmonster and they have little clue or care what problem might be yet they also get blank forum page.

How do I debug and fix to get this functional ?

I have seen this myself once but can't recall what I did.
You might want to start with the ubb server test script.
Just to see if it reports a problem.

Sorry I am a user and admin of forum, not a software programmer
what am I to do with the file in that zip file

I had a saved bookmark to admin page and that works
it says PHP version is PHP Version 5.2.17
Also all functions in admin webpage work OK

Going to CP of hostmonster I did a check of forum db and no errors shown

What you would do with the file is upload it to your site. Preferably in the forum folder and just type the url to the file in your browser.
But if you can access the ubb control panel I would think the test script may not help much.
If you can access the ubb control panel then I would double check the Control Panel » Permission Checks
Just to make sure all of them report ok.

Your original post states you are running 7.5.6 p2
What was the version before?
To use that version you would have been prior to v 7.5.6 and you would need to run the upgrade script.
If you were already at version 7.5.6 then you should have just uploaded the patch files.

version was 7.5.6, I did the P1 then few days later they had P2
but that was a week or so ago and no issues up till this AM

What could cause ubbthreads.php not to function, no errors in log file, even refer log shows URLs and other program in domain that use PHP or databases work fine so it only the forum that is not functioning though admin page does ......

Okay , As I posted before.
If you were already on version 7.5.6 there was no reason to upgrade.
You should have just uploaded the couple of patch files.
So I am assuming that you uploaded the full update zip and also ran the upgrade script?
That may be the problem. You may have corrupted something.

No I did as it P2 stated and just replaced the few files that were in the patch 2 folder, no total overwrite or upgrade

Again that was a week or so ago and no problem until this AM

Well would have liked to know what the crash was but had to get forum functional again so I used the web host server restore function to go back to early AM and forum is back up so something was wacked or hope it was not something in P2 that allowed someone to hack forum
