I have inherited the administration of a internal UBB 6.1.0. I can login as the adminstrator, but I don't see anywhere where I can change moderators of existing forums or make modifications to the forums themselves.

I have searched How do I forums, but did not find an answer.

UBB.threads or UBB.Classic?

If you are logged in as admin and you don't see a navigation link to control panel I would bet it is classic.
Classic used files with the cgi extension.
If it is classic you need to know the url to the control panel.
From the classic manual.
Goto:
Example
http://www.example.com/cgi-bin/forum/cp.cgi

OR

http://www.example.com/cgi-bin/ubb/cp.cgi

If it is in fact classic look several forums down on this board.
Pretty much at the bottom.
There is some documentation there also.

I know this makes me look like a noob, but I don't really know. I have only been here a month. How can I tell which version I have? The tag at the bottom of the page says Powered by Infopop Corporation

I know it is internal but what is the full url to the forum you use.
That would give a hint.

Classic had a end of life many years ago. There are very few people active here that still use it.
Some may say you need to upgrade. But if the version does what you want there is no need to.
Being installed on a intranet in lieu of the internet you have less security risks.

It must indeed be classic, as the IP address to our UBB does end in /cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi. I tried both of those links you have listed, but I can't get them to resolve to anything but iana.org.

I asked for the full url but anyway try the url ending with:
/cgi-bin/cp.cgi
Just change the file name from ultimatebb.cgi.to cp.cgi in the url

It is classic not threads.
So future goto the forum:
http://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/forums/32/1/UBB_classic_Version_6_Assistan

BTW ,the cp.cgi and ultimatebb.cgi file will reside in the same directory. Even if your site had a custom folder structure.

Then change the url to
http://xxx.xxx.com/cgi-bin/cp.cgi

I did find the cp.cgi url and can now edit the moderators and forums.

As one of the only foremost "experts" of UBB.Classic that still hangs around here (and retains minimal information about it) I'd highly advise at least running a current build rather than what you're using, I know there was a security issue for older versions of Classic.
