Under Membership, Profile Settings, Member Titles, there is a checkbox which is labeled: If a user has both a Custom and Post title, only show Custom Title.

Where would I find the Custom Titles? It doesn't appear to be in a member's profile.

That is found when editing a users profile. If you enable it to allow users to make their own custom title it will appear when editing their profile. If not you can still set a custom one for them by editing their profile.

Go to group management in the cp, lets say group users. Click site next to group users and last option on right column. Set character length. 0 would disable it

keep in mind -- gliderdad is correct on how to DISABLE ( 0 ) it..

but to enable it -- you don't put a 1 there, but a value that represents the number of characters allowed for the custom title..

i seen many boards where the custom title is enabled, but set to 1 character

put a value like 20 or 32 in that field
