I have noticed something you have on your board called the Featured Member.

Is this well received? Is it usually a new member? How long do you generally keep them up? I know...it would be up to me, but just asking.

Do you say something about them or just let their profile do the talking?

And, of course, where is it in the CP, lol. I think I have seen it.

You guys should just send me the "CP for Dummies for Bert."

It the 9th item down the list. You can select it to be active on either side or not at all.

It selects members totally at random and the info comes from their profile.

Beyond that, you'd need to mod the code to do anything else.


I do not activate it primarily due to it being totally random. I don't want members of my community to be confused wondering why I am featuring one member or another. Especially as not all members are of equal value. After all we all have members of our communities that we would not really want to be seen as "featured" don't we?

I think Rick posted a mod to the code to make it select someone with higher than X amount of posts.

Thanks Mike ang Gizmo. Mike makes a great point about their always being someone you wouldn't want featured. Some of them even have a large number of posts.

I only display people who have been active within the past 60 days.
