We upgraded the board this morning and all went smoothly.

Some users (one specifically) is using style infopop2 and some of the subject/poster entries are missing (blank) in the topic list. The problem repeats in Firefox and IE.

If the user clicks on the "blank" subject it will proceed to the thread.

Other users are not experiencing the problem.

The user has cleared cookies from his profile and has cleared his browser cache with ctl-F5.

I have searched the forums using various terms and have not come up with any answers to this issue.

Is this a known issue? Any hints on where to focus?

I have a screen print sent to me in an MS Word doc.

Well infopop2 means nothing. Meaning it is not a stock code or known custom style.
Also not knowing what version you upgraded from or to.
But I would suspect that you are missing some graphics icon files.
Try the default styles and see if you have the same issues.
ubbthreads_stock.

If the stock style works then that means you have a problem with your infopop2 style. What ever that is.

The user changed styles and all is OK. FYI UBB earlier versions, sometime prior to 7.X was by a company called Infopop. It may be the style was imported from Classic when upgrading to 7.1 in 2006.

Version was 7.1 to 7.5.6 as stated in the topic subject.

The style may have also been created to mimic the default style in classic as part of the upgrade. Before my time but we do have a style named Infopop2 that I thought was an old default.

UBBCode™ tags allow you to add formatting (bold, italics) and other information (emails, URLs) to your messages without learning HTML!

Infopop is the originator of this simplified markup for message board posts. Although they are called UBBCode™ tags, they work the same way whether you are using UBB™ software or the OpenTopic™ application. The name is a reference to Infopop's first product, the UBB™, for which the code was created in 1998.

Heres a fun one, wasn't it still Groupee when sold to Mindraven?

And yeah, it was Madrona Park (or whatever) before Groupee...

Yes I know all that.

It is all old news.

The style you had issues with is not a stock style with either classic or threads At least as I recall over the last 13 years or so.

We posted on top of each other Giz.
But I started to loose track with Ted's company names and software for a while.
Eve was another program he had.

To close this out...

When an older style was carried forward into new versions with new CSS attributes AND those attributes were not populated it could cause certain issues. It was usually one of the sub-attributes.

When I went through and made sure they were populated the problems went away. A bit tedious because you had to expand every category to the lowest level to find the blank entries.
