Is it possible to introduce Hyperlink Quotes (Link to refered posting)?
Or ist it at least possible to insert Date and posting time in Quote header?
I am member of a UBB forum which is Powered by UBB.threadsâ„¢ 7.5.4.2 and I want to suggest improvements if these are technical possible with the forum software like in this example where I refer to a posting of January 2011.

You can link to a specific post by using the "copy link" feature from the right click menu on the little piece of paper to the left of the subject of each post (post icon); example, your post is:
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/255501/hyperlink-quote#Post255501

As for your version, there have been several huge security releases since 7.5.x, you should get upgrade just because of those.

That are Hyperlinks ... but to show a quote which include the soure link to the posting (in this example to a posting in January 2011) as here
http://www.huehner-info.de/forum/sh...ein?p=1067548&viewfull=1#post1067548
[Linked Image from s1.directupload.net] **
there is not technical solution like in VBulletin?

At the moment, if we make quotes in UBB Thread forums You can't follow where it is the source at a easy way e.g. in mega long threads.

It would also help if the quote header mention the posting date and time alternatively to be able to get back to the source posting.

** The screen shot shows that I am on the link icon to the source posting

Is it not possible to integrate this BBCode by default (the red one)?
Usage [quote]Quote[/quote]
[quote=User Name]value[/quote]
Example Usage [quote]vBulletin[/quote]
[quote=John Percival]vBulletin[/quote]
[quote=User name;Post ID]vBulletin[/quote]
[quote=John Percival;2497790]vBulletin[/quote]

Example Output

vBulletin

I for one would not desire every quote to be highlighted using a special color font by default.
It is already highlighted with a header.
And if you desire you can change the font color when posting.

However this is not vBulletin.
But it probably could be accomplished with some custom coding to the scripts and styles.

You missunderstood that ... I don't want a different colour ... I just highlighted the questioned code line with red.

The integration of this BBCode by default [quote=User name;Post ID]Textquote[/quote]

Result in vBulletin can be seen here.

Well it is doable.
Probably is not a simple code change
Just depends on how big your wallet is to pay someone.
I suggest you post your request in the feedback/suggestions forum, Then hope for the best.
And or pay a programmer to edit the stock code for you.
This forum How do I.
Is focused on how to implement features in the current version.
Not how to modify the stock code.
Another venue to discover would be UBBDEV.com
Which is dedicated to modifications of the stock code.

Then I suggest to ask them to do so.
This is UBBthreads not vBulletin.
That is like asking microsoft to have features that Apple has.
They are each different products with different features.
You can request changes to a product but that does not always mean you will get them.

It is a nice feature request but there are to many outstanding issues to deal with currently.

Well, this feature is standard in many other Forum softwares. Other examples are IPBoards, Xenforo, Zetaboards and Burning Board.

I understand.
But the vendor is who decides what feature set to add ,not us users.
FYI just because other forums utilize a feature does not mean it should be in UBB.
For example look at a chat program.
We don't have a native one to use.
But over time you see people that have added one manually that they have had security risks.
Could there be a reason we never got a chat?

As I stated you should put your request in the Feedback Suggestions forum.
Also possibly email the vendor with your request.
This is a user supported board.

And even though the vendor does visit on occasion and provides this forum for our use. it is not a official communication to the vendor.

Not to mention, not every user wants these features added, just adding features to add them makes an overall product bloated; plus it'd add additional security concerns down the road (especially for things the maintainer doesn't utilize so the codebase for said items can go unchecked for quite some time).

This forum is a user to user discussion forum; we don't work for the company, if you'd like an official response from the owner, feel more than free to file a support ticket.
