UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads 7 Bug Reports url encoding of "." (without quotes)

I'me running 7.5.8. When users are making a topic and referring to a external link ending wit: .
Ubb is truncating this url without a . which is a non exsisting page.

For example the url
http://wiki.aquacomp.nl/index.php?title=Kakus_laten_herkennen. (the existing page)
will be truncated to:
http://wiki.aquacomp.nl/index.php?title=Kakus_laten_herkennen (which is a non exitsing page)

Try this
Is this a bug in UBB, or Apache or something else?
Running on Ubuntu 12.04

The software that is generating the link with trailing dots and underscores is creating links that are "copy/pasted parsed" differently in different browsers (Chrome/FireFox/IE/Opera) - also, different internet softwares will see those links differently (vBulletin/XenForo/SMF/UBBT and Facebook/Twitter...etc)

Then contact the support site for the wiki software (?) that is generating those links. As them to sanitize their string before making it into a URL.
