So I turned on the RSS Feed for the first time,

What is the ups and downs with this feature?

What is good to think about and is there any settings that are better or worse?

How shall I promote it to members or is it best not to?..

Push it into a rss news feed.
or push it into twitter via hoot suit and face book.

I don't see many negatives.

I use the multi option so I can feed the more interesting topic's out and not just general chat.
Im able to pick the forums I want to feed out.

It was predicted that rss feeds would do away with email at one point. But that assumption failed to factor in spam lol.

Once set up it plods along in the background.
Ive really no idea how many of my members us the rss function, probably none. Hence scheduled rss readers that push your topics out to social media. There are free ones but hootsuite is not one of them.

There really aren't any problems with enabling them, but most users simply won't care... I generally put them in a FAQ entry or forum post and call it done.
