UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads 7 Version 7 Support What causes this?

A user is complaining about a magnifying glass showing up in the threads. I can't seem to reproduce it, and I have no idea what causes it.

Here's a screenshot he sent me.

That magnifying glass icon that you see, is a "watched topic indicator."

If you click on it, you will be presented with a menu that tell you what it is, and a few options:
* Stop watching this topic -- this does what it says, and will remove the icon.
* Do not notify me -- depending on your user settings, this WILL NOT send you an email for each reply to this topic.
* Notify me for new posts -- depending on your user settings, this WILL send you an email for each reply to this topic.

The attached image is the menu you will see if you click on that Watched Forum/Topic/User (magnifying glass) icon.

There are a few ways to turn this ON/OFF

One is through the post reply/edit topic page.
Simply check or uncheck the "Add this thread to my Watched Topics" box.

The other is through the drop-down menu when viewing the whole topic.
Click the "Topic Options" button at the top, and choose to add or remove the item from your watched list.
