I might be missing something. I did try to search this but I could be using the words.

I am using Version: 7.5.9 of threads.

I would like to have the ability to have a category like TRUE STORIES. Under that, Stories about Hiking. Then under that, Hiking Yosemite and several other subforums. Under EACH of the subforums I need to have the ability to make another subforum.

How can I go about this?

1) In Control Panel, Select "Forum Settings" from the "Forums" group.

2) Choose "[Details]" next to the forum you want to be a subforum.

3) On its "Forum Basics" tab, there is a line named, "Parent." Select the parent forum you want that forum to reside under.

4) Click "Submit Changes" at the bottom.
done.

I guess what I am wanting to do is make sub TOPICS, not forums.
If someone makes a topic called 'Hiking' we then want another topic under that called 'Yosemite'.

Possible?

turn the forum display mode to "threaded view." this is also refered to as, "nested post view" in the late 90s

this will attach all replies to each post that is replied to.

You are correct:
Code
<input type="hidden" name="Parent" value="258313" />
