I just moved my site to a different server.

The php version is 5.6.21

Joomla correctly reports this, as does phpinfo() but UBB phpinfo reports it as 5.4.42

Any thoughts on this?

Do you have any .htaccess files in any of your UBB directories? Do any of them indicate to use a different PHP version?

The PHP info page in the control panel is a generic phpinfo() page, which just reads out what the server is reporting.

Fyi, the 5.6 branch of PHP is quite fast.

I suspected as much, which is why I did a phpinfo() check myself.

Here is a page to PHP version timings
http://onlinephpfunctions.com/benchmarks

And the direct link to the script that runs phpinfo() within "Control Panel PHP Info"
http:// www. YOUR WEBSITE .com/forums/admin/phpinfo_iframe.php
note: To access that page on your website, you'll need to be logged in as a admin/privileged user

I'm sure you already know this, but i'll post it for others reading your topic:
If you are accessing your website through FTP, confirm that it is setup to allow viewing of hidden files -- files/folders that start with a dot, such as ".htaccess"

for example -
