Hi - I've been setting up a new board, and even where I've assigned a moderator to a forum, my "admin" display name still appears as one of the moderators (in addition to the one I've assigned).

I can see the point of having the administrator retain admininstrative power over the forum, in case it is needed. But does it have to show even when someone else is supposed to be doing the real moderator job for that forum??

Maybe I've missed something in the administrator's guide, but I couldn't find anything about how to control this (and maybe I can't).

PS I know I can prevent the moderator name(s) from showing with the forum descriptions, which I do...I mean in the extra information box (though the same thing would apply to the display with the forum description, if I used that option)

Usually the admin who creates the forum will be listed as one of the moderators - however you are free to remove the admin's name from any and all forums as a moderator.

Simply edit the administrator (or youself) from the Admin menu in threads - then click "Remove from Moderator List". There you can remove yourself from any/all or various forums.

the admin can always edit and "moderate" anywhere without being listed specifically to a forum. Moderators only have "power" in forums where they are listed.

thanks, Josh, that did it. (I've had trouble parsing the functionality of the edit user...screens. It's all very logical, I'm sure, but I just haven't fully figured out the logic yet!
