I've searched these forums for an answer, but couldn't find any posts newer than 2001. Has anything changed since then with regards to converting an Ikonboard to UBBThreads?

I like the email digest feature, which is something a lot of my members have been asking for. But I'm not sure if it is worth the effort and expense to switch to UBBThreads.

Thanks,

Andrew

To my knowledge no importer exists. You should drop by www.threadsdev.com and see what they can offer. As for the simplest route, make the IK board an archive, turn off posting etc... and setup your new forum and get back to biz <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

Thanks for the reply. You make it sound easy enough, but I have to get 500 members to register again for the new forums.

I have to say, however, that I really liked being able to reply to this message from my email inbox. Features like that might make it worthwhile to many of my members.

Cheers and I'll check out that site you recommended,

Andrew

Is your Ikonboard the Perl version, the PHP version, or the MyIB version?

Theres not an "importer" that I'm aware of for Ikon Board - but spin through the developer for hire forum at threadsdev.com and you could probably find soemone to write a script to import your user database.

My money would be on Dave_L or Gardener. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="" face="">I have Ikonboard version 3.0.1 which I believe is Perl with the flat file database. If it makes a difference I would probably be willing to upgrade to the latest version with MySQL before converting to UBBThreads. I would at least like to transfer usernames and passwords if I can't transfer all the topics and messages.

Thanks again for the replies.
