Running RC1 and found that the top posters island, the post count is short by 2 of the real post count. Seems its out somewhere.

Now from the top posters island: Top Posters 7186 Webmaster 7082 ScanDesk
What is interesting it is who posts LAST is effected. Scandesk was 2 behind in his post count until I did my post.
Somehow its not fully updating until someone posts. I have not determined if you have to be a top poster (I have set for 10), but we have posts and it only seems to refresh once a top 10 person posts.
However if you in the portal settings have always build ticked on, it updates...
So should always build be ticked on for everything you use in the portal?
According to the settings it should NOT have to be ticked on..
"If you have an island that you want to use somewhere on your site, but not on the portal check the 'Always Build' option. Otherwise the island will not be built if it isn't in your portal setting."
I am using the portal and its two off until I always build and its okay.

You don't have to use the always build. What happens, anytime you make any changes to the portal settings, the cache is flushed and rebuilt, so it would have updated if you would have just cleared your cache as well.
More than likely it was just timing. If you post and the cache expiration hasn't been reached it won't rebuild. Once the cache expiration has reached it won't rebuild again until another action is triggered to rebuild the cache, in this case someone making a post.
It's a bit misleading in how the cache works. It doesn't auto build every 5 minutes when it's set to 5 minutes. It's all triggered by user interaction. If nobody posts on your site for a half-hour the cache won't be rebuilt for a half-hour.
