Hi !

I'm a user of the forum dahf.dk, which uses Ultimate Buletin Board version 6.1. Since I have changed my system to Windows XP Pro I haven't been able to login on that forum. Weird, because I have no problems using login in this UBB-forum. I have tried everything, and the owner and the users of the forum haven't been able to help me. I have tried deleting all cookies on my computer, but that didn't help. I have also compaired my internet options with a friend, but that doesn't seem to be the problem either.

Have anybody had a simular problem? Or does anybody know why I can't login on that forum (dahf.dk)?

Hope you can help me...

Flarup

Just to check - are you running IE6?

Try adding the site to the trusted sites zone in IE.

What does it tell you when you try to log-in - do you get an error message? blank page? dumbfounded stare? <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Yes, I'm running Internet Explorer 6.0.

I've just tried adding the site (dahf.dk) to the trusted site zone, but that didn't help either.

When I sign in using my username and password, this message arrives (I've translated the actual message from Danish into English):

"Thanx for loggin in. Wait a moment...then you'll be transfered back to: http://www.dahf.dk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1"]http://www.dahf.dk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=1"<br />

...But when I'm transfered back to the forum, it still says, that I haven't signed in! This means that I can't do anything.

------------------
NB! When I sign in with MY username and password on dahf.dk using my father's computer (which also uses Windows XP), there is no problems.
------------------

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Best regards,
Flarup

I just tried to register in this forum: http://www.mtvasia.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi - which uses UBB 6 just like dahf.dk. In MTVasia's forum I have the same problem as I have in dahf.dk's forum. My conclusion is: that I have problems with proberbly all UBB-forums and not with "open Topic"-forums. Any ideas why? - or any solutions?

Best regards,

Flarup

My technical support people just installed IE 6.0 on my system and it's returning the same bad results as Flareup. (Actually, in my case it just goes to "Thanks for logging in!
Sit tight... We are taking you back to: http://..."]http://..." and then never does anything else.)
I can still login to my UBB Control Panel.
I'm on Win2k and UBB 6.1.0.3.

The "doesn't do anything afterward" is a different issue - ensure you have no JavaScript in the header - if you do, please remove it or post in the PIT forum.

I don't have any JavaScript in the header, but I'll post in the PIT anyway.

Isn't there anybody outthere, who can help us? We cannot be the only one with this problem. There have to be some kind of bug in UBB or in IE 6.0.

I've just tried the "solution" in the other thread twice! It still doesn't work. I'm sure it won't work with the other user "{ZF}Master" either.

No clues of what the "bug" might be?

I'm a user of the forum http://www.dahf.dk, which uses Ultimate Buletin Board version 6.1. Since I have changed my system to Windows XP Pro and Internet Explorer 6.0, I haven't been able to login on that forum. I have tried everything, and the owner and the users of the forum haven't been able to help me. The support staff on UBB's webpage haven't been able to help me either. I have tried deleting all cookies on my computer, but that didn't help. I hvae tried added dahf.dk to the trusted sites zone, but that didn't help either. I have also compaired my internet options with a friend that had no problems, but that doesn't seem to be the problem either. When I try to log in on the forum it says "Thanks for logging in! Sit tight... We are taking you back to: http://...", but when it takes me back it doesnt have me logged in - So I cant post anything. I have tried register and log in in other UBB-forums and the same problem occure.

I have also tried this "solution", which was given to me from the UBB staff:

---------------------------------------------------------
Please ensure your IE cookie settings are as follows:
(To edit: Tools -> Internet Options, Privacy Tab)

Settings: Advanced

CHECK: Override automatic cookie handling

First party cookies: Select "Accept"
Third party cookies: Select "Block"

CHECK: Always allow session cookies

That should fix the problem.
---------------------------------------------------------

But that didn't fix the problem.

What's wrong? Before when I used windows 98 and Internet Explorer 5 I had no problems.

I hope some of you guys outthere can help me....I'm desperate!!! PLEASE HELP ME <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Best regards,
Flarup

Flarup - I also hope that Infopop can come up with a solution to the problems you (and I) are facing. In the meantime, I've been using Netscape and it is working fine (so far).

IE has a setting that allows you to be promped for every cookie.

Can you give that a shot, see if it is even getting that far?

I have solved my problem! Thanx for all your respons, but my problem was actually a lot more simple than the answers you came up with! The problem was...*Be ready for a big laugh*....that my windows clock was set to the year 2006, and therefor the UBB-cookie didn't work.

Well, thanx for listening...

Best regards,

Flarup
