This is probably a silly question and have such a simple answer that I apologise in advance for asking it.

I use UBB.classic 6.5.0 and have never used JC Templates but find it is till aprt of my forum set up on the server...how can I safely remove JC templates and associated files without messing the whole forum up ?

You can simply remove the directories "JCTemplates" from noncgi/Templates and "JCImages" from noncgi folders (if you have this directory), it won't cause any damage to your board if you're not using JCTemplates.
