How do I use the sign in features in the forum to autenticate users. ?

I'm planning setup a members pages in my site to give away some stuff like free ebooks, etc but in order for users to get to this page, they have to sign on in a page with their user-id and password that they have in the forums.

How do I implement that? I am very versatil with html and if you help me out I can setup this.

I could setup another javascript code for users to imput a password and userid but the issue is that I already have the forums and I offer free webemail too and both have different way to get in with different userid's and passwords and I don't want to add another one.

Thanks for any help!!!

I'm in the process of building a site and am using the UBB's membership database to control certain things.

In the end, I decided to just add things to the UBB and let it take care of everything. Not a problem for me since I know the UBB inside and out, almost as well as CC..

For the average user, there's no easy way of doing this. Basically, you're stuck either hacking the UBB or writing your scripts to read the UBB's member files..
