just made the big update vom 6.01 to 6.5 and had big problems by seing carriagereturn-tags in all files even we unzipped all files correctly. seemed like that ubb6.5 was developed in windows-machines *G*?

but that's not the thing i want to ask:
i was really confused by modifying the public_forum_summary.pl - file:

usually it's like that:

so, what i want to do is putting the time&date-line NEXT to the users name, so it would look like:

i also noticed that the subjectline like

is too short for my bbs, i have to much space in the right table-rows that i would love to expand it to more letters. where and how can i handle that?

would it be also possible to click on the users name in this public_forum_summary to check his/her profile?

did you ask that at UBBDev as well? (if so I missed your post..)

anyhow in public_forum_summary.pl where there is $last_author add before "from", and after add "posted <font size="1" face="$vars_style{FontFace}"><b>$TheDate</b></font>
<font size="1" face="$vars_style{FontFace}" color="$vars_style{TimeColor}">$LatestTime"... then scroll down a bit and where you see that code (I copied it from like 20 lines after $last_author) remove it...

i didn't ask yet on UBBDev.com - and, well, worked perfect, thanks! now the bbs looks MUCH better than before, now i'm just trying to get out some of the bold-tags to make the look&feel more clean...

still asking myself how to expand the subjectline-extract as mentioned above:
for example right now the ubb cuts the subjectline after a bunch of letters and i didn't find any possibility in the cp.cgi to change that.... so maybe you have an idea how to make the subjectline longer 'til it cuts it with the '...'-signs?

you see the difference? just want to expand the subjectline a bit in the public_forum_summary. i kicked out the icons so there's more space for letters and content *g*
